Day One opens quietly, with the light and scent of early spring blooms setting the tone for what’s to come. Together, Jung and TJ invite participants into a study of proportion, gesture, and the fleeting nature of beauty.​

The morning begins with conversation and demonstration. TJ introduces the foundations of sustainable, foam-free mechanics and the architecture that gives a design both strength and fluidity. Aulling Atelier builds on this with her approach to color harmony, rhythm, and natural movement — revealing how even the smallest gestures can evoke a landscape.

In the afternoon, participants move from observation to creation. Student hands on — with  guidance from both instructors, each student builds a spring centerpiece using seasonal materials chosen for their line, tone, and texture. ​

By day’s end, our work tables are alive with individual interpretations of a shared theme: that nothing in nature stands still. The work created today becomes both an introduction and a promise — the first expression of Ephemeral’s central idea that what fades can still leave a lasting impression.

Day Two marks the moment of expansion: where the work moves beyond the vessel and into space itself.

Together, Jung, TJ and guest designer Lori Bley of The Hidden Daisy guide participants through the structural and emotional landscape of large-scale design — an exploration of how flowers can inhabit architecture, light, and air.

The morning opens with TJ and Lori leading a deep dive into mechanics: the sustainable frameworks that allow flowers to move freely without the constraint of foam. This is where craft meets engineering — students learn to build structure that breathes, supports, and endures, even as the flowers within it remain fleeting.

In the afternoon, Jung Da Yoon takes the lead, showing how gesture, rhythm, and negative space can turn a structure into poetry. As participants begin to flower their framework, the installation transforms — becoming not just an arrangement, but an experience.

Day Three is the quiet return — the moment where the grand, collective gesture softens back into something deeply personal. Here, participants step back from the scale of the installation to rediscover the poetry of flowers held in the hand.

Jung Da Yoon begins the morning by exploring gesture, rhythm, and emotion within hand-tied design — how the curve of a stem or the tilt of a bloom can express movement, sentiment, and restraint. Her approach reflects a dialogue between the body and the flowers: how what we hold, in turn, holds us.

Participants then create their own hand-tied bouquets, guided by both instructors through moments of flow, revision, and reflection. 

As the final session closes, students gather once more among the remnants of the installation. Bouquets are photographed, shared, and then released back to the earth or the vase — completing the cycle that began on Day One. Day Three is not simply an ending, but a return: to hand, to heart, and to the quiet understanding that ephemeral is not about what fades, but what remains.
